A lot of people dreams of having a cabin crew life partner, a husband, a wife, a boyfriend, or a girlfriend. It’s easier said than done, easier to think of than experienced, especially when one is not involved in the aviation industry. “Marry me, fly for free” has been a tagline of many airline cabin crew members, not being taken seriously by them though, but sometimes, taken seriously by others outside the airline industry.
Observing and seeing things ourselves, we noticed that the mortality rate of relationships between a cabin crew and an outsider is higher than between two cabin crew members, a cabin crew and a pilot, or even a cabin crew and someone involved in the aviation industry. We then asked some of love gurus who are also cabin crew members why is this so, and they were kind enough to answer. These cabin crew love gurus have been through the best and worst, hence, sharing their 2 cents. They want to keep their identities concealed as not to get into trouble with their respective airlines.
It does not take rocket science to enjoy a fruitful relationship or marriage with a cabin crew if one is an outsider, one of our gurus explains. We also realized that ourselves, as a company greatly involved with flight attendants.
The first thing one need is to understand the nature of the job of every flight attendant! Yes this has been a huge factor why the mortality rate of cabin crew members to outsiders is higher compared to inter-airline industry; it is the lack of understanding! So let us run this down. A flight attendant or flight steward travels around the world and in most cases; they are gone most of the time within a month’s period. Our love guru says many of the outsiders do not understand this by heart! They claim they do but in the process, they fail. It is not just the time; this also includes understanding the nature of the job! Flying through different time zones, pushing carts down the aisle, working different hours, answering each call button, dealing with hard headed passengers, safety demos, etc etc., is very tiring indeed! So if you want to get into relationship with a flight attendant, understand the nature of their jobs AS A WHOLE! Understand why they would want to sleep after a flight. Understand why they cannot go out on a date hours before their flights. Understand also that Viber, FB messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, will be your best friends. Instead, be an encouragement. Support them all the time. Inter-cabin crew or pilot - cabin crew or even cabin crew – airline person relationships lasts longer because people from within the airline understands the nature of the job of flight attendants and stewards. They know how to handle these situations well.
In relation to our first point, our love guru says trust is very important, trust as in “tiwala”, okay? Not any other thing! We need not elaborate on this any further. If you are an outsider who would want a relationship with a cabin crew, this is very important. You simply can’t go berserk just because your partner is in London with a colleague of the opposite sex travelling together. They are colleagues for crying out loud, whether pilot or cabin crew. Losing trust will not solve the problem, it even fans the flames. Our love guru mentions that many breakups happen because of the lack of trust. Example, outsider sees a picture of his cabin crew girlfriend with a fellow flight steward at the Sydney Opera house, beside each other smiling and having fun. Outsider guy gets jealous head over heels, thinks that girl is cheating, guy goes on a boy’s night-out while girlfriend is in Sydney on a layover, guy makes out with some girl he meets in a bar because of jealousy over his GF due to the lack of trust, then later on finds out that the flight steward just accompanied her because she is alone and it’s her first layover in Sydney. So who lost? If you want to be involved with a cabin crew if you are an outsider, trust or tiwala plays a huge huge factor. No room for insecure freaks.
Last but not least is TIME. Once you have full understanding of the job of a cabin crew and you totally trust him or her, you now need TIME with one another!
